Is it really a Useful App?
I would say yes and no to this question, as Twitter does have some good things about it. One good thing about Twitter I do like about it is the community of educators that are on Twitter. There are so many different resources from other educators that could be useful in your own classroom. It also allows you to explore different ideas for lesson plans or even find templates for work. One thing I don’t like about Twitter, well it’s not that I don’t like the app I just never go on it. Twitter is the one social media app I never go on, I have had Twitter since high school and never got into it. I never know what to say on a post or I even know if I should retweet something. I also find it hard to use as well, as there are so many different ways to show your tweet like using hashtags or following lots of different people and groups. And there are times you miss important things people have posted and I was not able to see it as my feed has lots going on.
Will i use this app?
For now, I will only be using Twitter for EDTC300, but I think in the future I will use it more once I have my own classroom. I feel like Twitter is a good place to display my classroom and what they are learning throughout the year. I would like to use Instagram more to create and display the learning that is being done in my classroom once I’m a teacher instead of Twitter, as I use Instagram more often.

I agree Kelsey, I’m really only using twitter for this course. I don’t foresee myself using twitter much past this course until I get my own classroom. I had also thought of using Instagram, but I think it would be harder to build up a following.
I never thought of that Meghan, instagram is harder to get a following but if you are just using that platform to show the parents and other teachers in your school your learning. Instagram could be useful, but you never know until you try.
I agree that you can miss something so quickly on Twitter when you have a large following base! Follow accounts that are meaningful to you.
So true, i don’t follow much accounts right now as i don’t want to start following random education accounts that take up much of my feed.
I totally agree! I am not super into twitter right now but I hope and feel like once I have a classroom I will have things to share!
Like you, I have to agree. I did have a twitter account before but mostly used it to see sport articles or anything hockey related. I was never into the tweeting and stuff on twitter, more just looking. I only made a new account for this class as forgot my password for my old account, haha. So this whole concept of tweeting and everything is new to me. I don’t foresee myself using twitter again after this semester but like anything in the world, you don’t know what the future holds. So we shall see what happens.
