Week 6

This week, my focus was to create a landscape scene incorporating both hills and the sky. To create the hills, I began by using a darker green shade to draw outlines of the hill. Then, I began to incorporate light green to colour the hill in. However, I noticed that my dark green shade was beginning to look more like a dark blue, which was not the goal. I decided to use a different dark green, since I had a few options, and went over the original lines. Then, once the picture was dry, I used another green shaded to add some additional lines in the hill. I decided to do this because it would add texture and layers to the painting.

For the sky, I actually only used one shade of blue. In some sections of the sky, I pressed quite hard whereas in other parts I pressed quite light. While painting the sky, I also made short and quick strokes to add several layers. Interestingly enough, I did not find too much difficulty in painting my sky.

I faced a bit of struggle when attempting to draw some clouds in my sky scene. The hope was to have clouds incorporated to make the scene more exciting. However, my white cloud began to turn blue as I continued painting. Overall, I am quite proud of how this painting has turned out and it is safe to say that this is my favourite one so far.
