Blog Post #1
Hello everyone! My name is Madison Massey, and I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Regina. A little about myself is that I have a cat named Luna, who is about three years old now. She is my little best friend! Another fact about myself is I enjoy online shopping!
My experiences with educational technology are minimal, and I am not the greatest with technology by any means! I have always been one to use social media, but my blogging experiences are also very minimal, besides the odd class throughout my four years that has requested me to blog. I feel like even though I don’t blog often, it is a very helpful and engaging task that can be done at any moment, and you can blog about anything. I enjoy when my professors assign this as a task throughout the semester because it helps me stay focused and engaged with what we are doing and learning throughout the semester. I took EDTC 300 because I felt it was important for me as a future educator to learn about the importance of technology within the classroom, and hopefully gain a few more skills for my own needs. Overall, I am super excited to see what this course is all about and begin my learning project!
Below is a photo of my cat!
I also wanted to add a link that I have recently been using at my workplace, which is an online educational resource for teachers, parents, daycare workers, etc. Everyone should check it out, I have found that kids of all ages enjoy read-aloud and this website has great read-aloud books!
Vooks – Storybooks brought to life with beautiful animation!
Hey Madison,
It is so nice to meet you! It must be a great feeling almost being done your degree. Thank you for sharing a little bit about your personal life, your cat Luna looks adroable with that bow. At the end of your post you mention the website called Vooks. That is a great website and I use it all the time. My new online resource that I just been playing around is Boddle Learning. It is this free online math resource that students can play on. It’s great because students can play against each other and you can assign particluar assignments to them which is awesome!
Here’s the link if you want to check it out https://www.boddlelearning.com/
Take care,
