Post #7 – Step by Step!
Hello everyone and welcome back!
This past week was another busy week for me, as I am preparing for my three-week block! I was able to achieve most of my to-do list, however, I did not get to finish all of it! I was able to finish the bathroom floors and paint the cabinets. I was also able to start spray painting the bathroom cabinets’ hardware black – a picture will be attached below! I was thrilled with how the first coat of spray paint went on the metal, it may need a few more coats but that is okay! Finally, I bought the towel rack, toilet paper roll hanger, and bathroom mirror this week, bringing my total to $219.08. (Which in my opinion is pretty reasonable for all the work I have done/everything that has been bought)
For this week the new digital tool I used was YouTube, I spent a good portion of this past week watching different videos that would potentially help me with the rest of my bathroom renovation. I explored different styles of videos like tutorials and transformations. I also was able to grow my understanding of this field of study. I am not going to lie; I would not have been able to come this far in my renovation without YouTube! Besides watching the videos, I also have been using YouTube to upload the videos I have been creating so this app has two main p[purposes for me and I have been loving it! Below are a few of the videos I watched on YouTube to help me with my renovation.
Peel & Stick Tile Installation – Without Grout (youtube.com)
Watch Us PEEL & STICK a SMALL BATHROOM FLOOR with Luxury Vinyl Tile! (youtube.com)
I was going to attach more links, but I think it is obvious what I used YouTube for this week! Now, I have attached a few photos that are of the current state of my bathroom renovation!
Next week, I will be focusing on finishing the cabinets; which means getting the hardware spray patined and the cabinets reattached to the cupboards. I also will be adding the baseboards into the bathroom; that will need a bit of research before beginning. I also will attach and put up all of the stuff I bought this previous week!
Overall, thank you for listening! See ya next week!
Hey Madison!
I read your post and I’m thrilled with how you picked such a difficult task and ran with it. I do not know about painting, spraying, or even making renovations but I must say that you are doing a great job.
Well done Madison!
I wish you luck in the future.
Hi Madison!
The floor looks so great! It really brightens up the room! I love using youtube for tips and tricks on different projects too. Another place that has great home reno tips is TikTok! I’ve been really enjoying watching your learning project. It’s inspired me to try to DIY things instead of just buying new. I’ve been looking for a planter box for my balcony so I can grow vegetables this summer. But thanks to watching you, I’m going to use YouTube and build one myself! from scratch! I think DIY-ing or building things could definitely be something you could pull inspiration from when thinking about your future classroom. I can see it being super beneficial to kids. You are doing great and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
