Debate #2: Technology has Led to a More Equitable Society
(Week #3: Post #2)
Some Initial Thoughts
I almost feel a bit pessimistic here lately on the old blog, as again this is a statement that I disagree with. Unlike the other one where if the wording was altered even in the slightest I could see myself changing my mind, however, with this one, I have to say that again I have to disagree with this statement even before the debaters have a chance to argue their sides.
For this debate, we have 6 people total, 3 on each side. For the Hip-Hip-Horray Side (agree with side), we hear from Tracy, Nicole W, and Stephen. On the No Way! Side (disagree side) we hear from Christina, Amaya, and Matt. This is an especially interesting debate for me, as this originally was the statement that I tried to sign up for under the disagree side as I feel quite strongly about it right from the get-go. Before hearing some of my thoughts, I want to summarize some of the main points that each group brought forward.
Debate #1: Technology Enhances Learning
(Week #3: Post #1)
A Little Background
Before even getting started summarizing the first debate, I have to say that both sides did a great job and what a task it is going first. Even though they went first and had no other group to compare themselves to, or to spark ideas from, I think that they did a really great job and it was no simple task. The first debate topic was: “Technology in the classroom enhances learning.” There were two people on each side of this debate: Megan and Brittney M were for the agree on side, and Nicole and Daryl were for the disagree side.
A Day in the Life Related to Technology
Welcome Back Y’All!
Welcome back Y’All! I am glad to be here and to be finishing up my last course for the Master’s Certificate of Educational Technology and Media. For some reason, I feel like I have written a post similar to this one over the course of the last year, however, I seem to be unable to recollect which class it was for and what the heck I would have titled it. Anyways, I guess how I have been using technology in my everyday life has probably changed from a year ago until now. I’m not quite sure if it’s the end of the school year approaching, or the rain and overcast weather outside, but my brain seems to be in a bit of a fog, so this may be a jumbled post. Readers, please be patient with me today.
